After winning the 2011 French Open, Li Na became China’s first and only Grand Slam singles tennis champion. She went on to win her second career Grand Slam at the 2014 Australian Open, raising her up to a career-high No. 2 world ranking that same year. In 2013 during her launch as a Right To Play Athlete Ambassador, she visited the Beijing school for the blind, where she found herself perfectly at home playing Right To Play games with the children.
“I get to play tennis every day as my job. It’s hard to imagine being a child and not having the chance to play. It’s every child’s right, no matter where they come from or what their abilities are. That’s why I want to be an Athlete Ambassador for Right To Play. I want to help make sure children like the students here are given every opportunity to have fun and learn through play.”
