Figure Skating
Madeline Schizas is a two-time Canadian Olympian and one of Canada's leading figure skaters. A four-time Canadian national champion, Madeline has represented Canada at two Olympic Winter Games, making her Olympic debut at Beijing 2022 before returning to the Olympic stage at Milano Cortina 2026.
At Beijing 2022, Madeline played a key role in Canada's fourth-place finish in the team event, placing second in both the women's short program and free skate portions of the competition. She has also represented Canada at multiple ISU World Figure Skating Championships, including an impressive performance in 2025 that helped Canada secure an Olympic quota spot for Milano Cortina 2026.
Originally from Oakville, Ontario, Madeline began skating at just three years old. Her passion for the sport was inspired in part by watching Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette compete at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Alongside her athletic career, Madeline has pursued her studies in Environment and Society at McMaster University.
As a Right To Play Ambassador, Madeline is proud to use her platform as an athlete to help inspire children and young people through the power of sport and play. Her dedication, perseverance, and experience competing on the world's biggest sporting stage embody the confidence and resilience that Right To Play works to foster in children around the world.
