Phylicia George

Track & Field and Bobsled

Phylicia George is one of Canada's most accomplished multi-sport Olympians, having represented Team Canada at three Olympic Games across two different sports. A two-time Olympic finalist in the 100-metre hurdles at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, she later made history by transitioning to bobsleigh and winning a bronze medal in the two-woman event at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. In doing so, she became one of the few Canadian athletes ever to compete at both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in Biological Sciences, Phylicia has enjoyed an outstanding international career that includes appearances at the Olympic Games, World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, and World Cup bobsleigh events. Known for her resilience and determination, she successfully returned from significant injuries before reaching the Olympic podium in a second sport.

Beyond competition, Phylicia is passionate about empowering young people to pursue their goals with confidence and perseverance. As a Right To Play Ambassador, she is proud to use her experiences to inspire children and youth to discover the life-changing power of sport and play while building resilience, leadership, and self-belief.
