Roland Collombin

Alpine Skiing

"Sport is a big part of my life. I learned a lot from him and was able to travel the world through it. As an athlete ambassador for Right To Play, I help to give children around the world an opportunity for a good education through sports- and play activities, thereby boosting their self-confidence."

Roland Collombin is a former Swiss ski racer who, at the height of his career, was clearly among the world's top downhill skiers. In a short career of three years Collombin won 8 World Cups and Olympic silver. In 1975, the Valaisan, also known as "Rock n' Roller on downhill skis", was forced to retire after a serious fall and has since been active as a winegrower, wine merchant and hotelier in his home country. Since 2013, Roland Collombin has been one of Right To Play's athlete ambassadors, especially for Right To Play Friends Valais.
