Laviai Nielsen
Athletics - hurdles
Laviai began her rise at the European Junior Championships and was crowned champion in 2015. Since then she has gone on to compete at senior and international level representing Great Britain at the 2017 World Championships and winning Silver as part of the 4 x 400m team. During this time Laviai has been balancing her training with studying Geography at King’s College University, successfully graduating in 2018.
Laviai says: “The impact Right To Play has achieved so far, and is continuing to achieve is something that lies close to my heart. Being an athlete, we’ve experienced first-hand the power that sport and play can have on personal development, character development and education. Having finished my degree in Geography, which took a focus on international development, I further understand that development is a multi-directional venture. We are excited to see what impact, however small or big, we can have on this important cause.”
