Susan McIsaac - Lebanon

Susan McIsaac, Right To Play International’s President and CEO since 2019, has announced that she will retire at the end of 2025 after six impactful years of leadership at Right To Play and a 35-year career as an outstanding leader in the nonprofit and international development sectors.

Susan joined Right To Play International in June 2019 as Chief Philanthropy Officer and became CEO in January 2021. During her time at Right To Play, Susan brought greater strategic focus and expertise to Right To Play in defining and executing our mission to protect, educate and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play. Susan’s leadership enabled the organization to increase our revenue and capacity to deliver programming through the development of lasting funding and programming partnerships domestically and internationally. Susan also strengthened Right To Play’s culture of global collaboration and excellence across the organization’s 21 countries of operations.

“Susan is a tremendous leader and Right To Play has benefitted enormously from her tenure,” said International Board of Directors Chair Kate McGilvray. “Susan’s infectious passion, energy, and tireless effort leave behind an organization committed and well-positioned to deliver on its mission. On behalf of my fellow directors and Right To Play’s employees and partners around the world, I want to express my appreciation and admiration for Susan’s leadership and dedication, and to wish her all the best in her retirement.”

“I am deeply grateful to my wonderful colleagues at Right To Play for the last six years. I am privileged to have had the chance to learn from them and support their work. I also want to thank our wonderful Boards of Directors, donors, and partners for believing in children and in the incredible power of play,” said McIsaac. “Now more than ever we must rally together to protect, educate, and empower children to help them to stay in school and learn, overcome prejudice, heal from trauma, and develop the skills they need to thrive.”

A search for Right To Play’s next leader has begun. McIsaac will remain in her role until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition. OxfordHR has been appointed to support the search. Nominations and expressions of interest can be sent to James Sawyer at jsawyer@oxfordhr.com.
