Birgit Skarstein
Paralympic athlete
Birgit Skarstein is a former Norwegian Paralympic athlete and a socially engaged role model. She has competed internationally in both rowing and cross-country skiing and has won several medals at the Paralympic Games and World Championships. Birgit is known for her strong commitment to inclusion, equal opportunities, and children’s right to participate.
She has been an ambassador for Right To Play since 2015, contributing her experience and dedication to supporting the organization’s work in providing children in vulnerable situations with access to education, safety, and development through play. In 2015, she traveled with Right To Play to Palestine together with two of the organization’s other ambassadors, where she had a powerful encounter with children and young people living under difficult conditions.
