Laura Thomas
Acting Executive Director, Indigenous Programs
Laura is the Acting Executive Director, Indigenous Programs at Right To Play. Prior to joining Right To Play, Laura worked for YWCA Toronto and the Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre, supporting programs that provided affordable housing and services for women. Laura joined Right To Play in 2010 and has been part of the Indigenous Programs team since 2013, overseeing direct community partnerships, program operations, and strategic planning along the way.
While overseeing Indigenous Programs as Acting Executive Director she is responsible for the execution of the 2021-2025 strategic plan, and the leadership of a team of diverse innovators who provide coaching, training, and resources to over 75 Indigenous community partnerships across Canada. Laura is passionate about leading through connecting people & ideas, and will always get excited to design a workshop session plan.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University and a Certificate of Adult Learning and Development from the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education (OISE). She loves to dance, bike, play, and watch really bad movies.
