• Ten Years of Learning Through Play: The LEGO Foundation and Right To Play

  For a decade, Right To Play and the LEGO Foundation have been working together to ensure that children around the world can experience the joy, wonder, and power of learning through play. Through our partnership, we’ve directly reached seven million children and close to 200,000 teachers in 12 countries in Africa and the Middle East and we’ve developed resources that have reached children in several more countries.

• Our 2024 Annual Report

  Our 2024 Global Annual Report shows how support from you, our donors, made a significant difference in the lives of millions of children in 15 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Indigenous communities in Canada last year, helping children to to stay in school and learn, overcome prejudice, heal from trauma, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

• Help Children in Gaza and the West Bank

  Hundreds of thousands of children in the Middle East are living through crisis. Many have witnessed family members and friends injured or killed. Children need our help. Your donation can help us respond.

• Helping Refugee Youth Heal Through Sport

  Game Connect is a sport-for-protection program designed to improve the mental health and psychosocial well-being of refugee youth aged 15 to 24 in Uganda. Through weekly sessions, Game Connect empowers young people to build resilience, develop emotional regulation, and foster peaceful coexistence. A randomized controlled trial found that the program reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression in displaced youth and those in refugee communities. Importantly, mental health benefits were observed in both those with and without disability.

• Policy Brief: Accelerating Foundational Learning Through The Power Of Play

  Our new Policy Brief, Accelerating Foundational Learning through Play: An Effective Approach to Improving Literacy, Numeracy, and Socio-Emotional Skills, published in May 2025, explores how play-based learning can help to address learning poverty by creating inclusive and engaging learning environments that support children’s academic and socio-emotional development.

  Domenico di Nuzzo, Child Protection and Psychosocial Support Specialist at Right To Play, speaks about the impact of conflict and uncertainty on children and their communities, and how play-based psychosocial support can enhance children’s emotional health and development.

• Bridging the Gaps Caused by Displacement

  Displacement creates many gaps in children’s lives: children who are refugees are more likely to be out of school than their peers. They are more likely to experience fear, anxiety, and other mental health issues. It can be easy to lose hope.

• The Power Of Play-Based Learning

  We often talk about the power of play, but what do we mean? What’s powerful about play? Play is a universal experience. Across cultures, all people engage in some form of play. And it’s not just for fun. When we play, we learn new skills, develop emotional awareness and skills, learn how communicate with each other, and discover new things about ourselves and the world.
