Mona Abu Shaban

Director, Global Total Rewards

Mona came to Right To Play in 2013 with over 9 years of experience in compensation and management via the United Nations (UNRWA). While working in UNRWA HQ Gaza and then HQ Amman as Compensation and Management Services Officer she contributed to the development and implementation of the classification, compensation and change management reform in UNRWA countries of operations: Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and Gaza. Prior to joining RTP Mona also worked as Human Capital Subject Matter Expert for Deloitte, Saudi Arabia on the reorganization and staff assessment of the International Islamic Relief Organization. Mona studied Human Resources at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Conflict Management from Ein Shams University and a diploma in Leadership and Management Development. Mona is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Human Resources Business Professional (HRBP). Mona is a member of several HR committees: WorldatWork, Internal, HRPA, Canada and SHRM, USA. She is also a member of International Child Protection Network of Canada. Mona is a big believer in the impact RTP have on the life of others, having witnessed the change in the life of Gaza children during the work with UNRWA in Gaza.

As the Director, Global Total Rewards, since joining RTP in 2013, Mona has been a driving force in moving forward major organizational transformation in compensation and total rewards including Pay Right project, establishing the milestone of market rate salary scales globally, leading annual staffing budgeting, and introducing a global staff recognition program.
